Submission Guidelines:

Some poems drag you straight to the precipice; that dizzy feeling of excitement as each line sends you falling into the writer’s hands. They have gripped you. It is the feeling of a hand running down your thigh; a rollercoaster dipping over the edge; a sunset view with a half-drunk head. These are the poems we want to read.

Now for the devil’s bits….

  • Please send up to 5 poems to alligatorstew@post.com. Each poem should be no more than 20 lines long. All submissions must be in the body of an email.
  • We don’t include a bio in print, but if you provide us with a link to your website then we will add it to our website.
  • We request first time publishing rights (in exceptional cases we have been known to print previously published work, but please let us know when and where) and, of course, demand that the writing is your own. After publication all rights revert to the artist/writer.
  • If selected your poem(s) may be accompanied by an illustration inspired by your piece. We will not request your approval prior to print.
  • Payment is one contributor copy.
  • If you are an artist interested in illustrating poems for Alligator Stew then please either send up to five examples of your work, or a link to your website, to alligatorstew@post.com.
  • We aim to respond to all submissions within 30 days. If you don’t hear from us within this timeframe then please drop us a line.

If we’ve missed anything it’s probably the cheap wine. If you have any questions please drop us a line, otherwise we wish you all the best with your submission.

    1. Hi James

I’ll try and show a bit more leg for the third issue. But you know, you really can’t live without a copy of the Stew!

      Thanks for stopping by
